We received a total of 100 leads. As of this date, May 9th, we have closed two franchise sales, we have issued 3 additional franchise agreements that we expect to be returned within the next two weeks and one additional franchise agreement will be issued next Wednesday. We have booked nine more prospects from the show to attend our Discovery Day Presentation within the next 45 days. In addition to this, we are under serious discussions with a group for the master franchise rights for Japan, they will be visiting us the first week in June. All this being said, we feel that we have had a tremendous response to our opportunity as a result of the IFE and the quality of prospects has been equally as exciting. Keep up the good work and we will definitely be there next year as well.

With everything that was going on in the world, and with protests in the streets of Washington, D.C., I didn't expect the international turn out to be very good. But it was! We already have a deposit for a master license in Nigeria, and we've had half-a-dozen Discovery Days with international prospects since the IFE. We're working with people in Spain, Mexico, Ecuador and Israel. Washington, D.C. is a great place for an international exhibition. People go there for many reasons, but they come to the IFE because they know we are the world's leader and they want to see our concepts and learn from us. We're very pleased with the results.

I didn't expect that large of a turnout. I brought tons of general information packages and 30 certified franchise packages, which we give only to those we disclose; but I came home with three times the number of leads. I had to be very selective about giving away our information after the first day. By the end of the show I had one package left, and more than 60 people who I said I would send packages to after the show. It was a tremendous response, and we have a lot of deals pending right now.

With so many leads coming from the Internet and by phone, it's refreshing to be able to speak to people in person. Plus, it's one hundred percent more valuable when you can meet people face to face and talk to them about a franchise. I made some great contacts with other systems and learned some lessons from people who made mistakes that I'd like to avoid. There's a lot of value in the after-hours portion of the IFE.

The Minority Advantage Seminar at the 2003 IFE was a tremendous start at examining a future advantage and opportunity in the franchise business.
