Uniglobe Travel USA Announces Growth in U.S. Marketplace Through Alliance Strategy with Vacation.com IRVINE, CA - Contrary to industry trends, Uniglobe Travel (USA) LLC. today announced an impressive growth in outlets in the U.S., fuelled primarily by its alliance strategy with Vacation.com. As part of the strategic alliance that was signed with Vacation.com in March 2003, UNIGLOBE designed a licensing program to appeal to Vacation.com members who want to grow their corporate travel business and earn airline incentives by moving market share to preferred airlines. UNIGLOBE sharpened its focus on the mid-sized corporate account sector this year after an extensive research study of the U.S. travel marketplace. "We have added 60 new locations doing $225 million in sales annually to our U.S. organization in the past five months, and these are agencies that are buying in to the revitalized corporate focus," said Malcolm Read, President for UNIGLOBE Travel USA. "We expect such a growth trend can continue through to the end of the year." The UNIGLOBE "V" program contains many aspects of the full UNIGLOBE "New Millennium" conversion program that is being announced to the marketplace later this month, yet the "V" program is tailor-made and priced to meet the needs of Vacation.com members. The alliance enables select Vacation.com members to earn additional revenues provided they sell effectively to corporate accounts and move market share towards preferred airlines designated by UNIGLOBE. "We have found a number of Vacation.com members want to add corporate accounts to their agency's business mix and our sign-ups shows the demand for such a product exists. These agencies are signing a UNIGLOBE licensing agreement and then are participating in orientation, corporate sales training, and intensive airline moving market share training all delivered online," noted Read. It is expected that the additional corporate accounts and the related sales volume that the new UNIGLOBE "V" agencies bring to the partnership will benefit UNIGLOBE in its supplier relationships. Due to its industry-leading performance in shifting market share, UNIGLOBE has retained lucrative airline incentive agreements. During the development of the "V" program, UNIGLOBE collaborated with its preferred airlines on how the program could increase their respective market shares.
