Beaners Expanding Franchise Out of State
|
A mid-Michigan coffee chain is making it big, taking its cup of joe out of state. Beaner's of East Lansing will sell franchises, and they're looking to set up shop down south. Kori Lawlor, Beaners Marketing and Promotions: "L ook for special stuff, merchandise in the stores." The 1st Beaners was started in East Lansing 10 years ago. Michael McFall, Beaners President: "My partners had the idea of an Italian-style coffee bar with an American twist." Today, Beaners has grown to have 27 stores regionally, and throughout this next year, they'll be opening 17 more, both in the region and in the southeast. Michael McFall: "The south is underserved from the gourmet coffee standpoint. There's virtually no competition." And to top it off,Beaners is slated to be among the top 10 coffee shop chains in the country because of the many locations. Michael McFall: "We're looking at market penetration, and Lansing's been a model for the future." And while they're focused about expanding and meeting the needs of the vast coffee drinkers, President McFall says Beaners is not getting ahead of the goal. Beaners plans to have coupons and specials throughout the year to celebrate the multiple milestones. |
