Mark Simon is the General Manager of the Westland, Michigan Famous Dave's, awarded restaurant of the year. The Westland Famous Dave's is owned by franchisee Blue Ribbon Restaurants, LLC, whose President Elliot Baum owns and operates three Famous Dave's. Famous Dave's determines Restaurant of the Year by considering a combination of net sales, sales per square foot, average restaurant operations review score and average mystery shopper score.

For the second year in a row, Famous Five Dining of Nashville, Tennessee, was awarded the Famous Dave's Franchisee of the Year Award. Famous Five Dining is owned by Mike and Tamara Lister and Doug and Laurel Reneger. Famous Five Dining owns and operates four Famous Dave's in Tennessee and one in Alabama. The criteria for the Franchisee of the Year Award includes excellence in operations execution for the portfolio of restaurants, mystery shopper scores, restaurant operations review and implementation of training programs.

Area Developer of the Year was awarded to Team R n' B Michigan. The award recognizes excellence in executing the Famous Dave's brand standard in new markets. During 2004, Team R n' B Michigan opened new Famous Dave's in Grandville, Michigan, Fruitport, Michigan and, through an affiliate, Greenfield, Wisconsin. Team R n' B Michigan owner Larry Seedorf also owns and operates four additional Famous Dave's in Wisconsin and has purchased the rights to open eight Famous Dave's restaurants in New York State.

Hormel Foods was named Vendor of the Year by Famous Dave's, the first time Famous Dave's has given the award. Hormel was recognized for providing the highest quality product at competitive prices. Hormel has approached the relationship as a true partnership for many years, touring the country with Dave Anderson visiting remote barbeque joints, playing an integral role in several research and development projects and inviting Famous Dave's representatives to the Hormel plant to get a first-hand look at their process.
