WILBRAHAM, MASSACHUSETTS - February 7, 2005 - - Friendly's Restaurants Franchise, Inc., a subsidiary of Friendly Ice Cream Corporation (Friendly's) of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, today announced a Development Agreement with R.R.C. Restaurants, Inc., to build and operate three additional Friendly's restaurants in New Castle County, DE.

The announcement is part of a continued franchise expansion strategy by Friendly's, which has announced similar development agreements for 62 restaurants in the last 12 months. Each restaurant means jobs, tax revenues, and other economic benefits for the local community.

 R.R.C. Restaurants President Brian Myers, a Friendly's franchisee since 2001, already operates four Friendly's Restaurants in Delaware.

            "Friendly's has been a winner for my company and for the people we serve, and I'm very pleased to be opening three Friendly's Restaurants in New Castle County," said Myers. "In addition to Friendly's delicious food and signature ice cream, we'll be bringing 200 jobs to New Castle County.        

Friendly's Chief Executive Officer and President John L. R.R.C. Restaurants will open its new Friendly's Restaurants by September 2008.   "I looked at many options before opening my first Friendly's Restaurant four years ago, and Friendly's offered the best opportunity by far, including its famous ice cream and great brand awareness, comprehensive marketing, and strong operating and management systems to support franchisees," added Myers, who owns Friendly's Restaurants in Newark.
