Funk will be honored for his promotion of the cattle industry, as well as his support of youth education through his scholarship cattle show program.

"It is such an honor to be recognized by the International Stockmen's Educational Foundation," Funk said. "Youth education is one of the most important issues facing our country. I believe that offering scholarship programs is an excellent way to encourage young people to further their educations."

Funk is the owner of Express Ranches, with headquarters and sales facilities in Yukon, Okla., and over 20,000 acres of land in Yukon and Shawnee, Okla.; Onida, S.D.; and Ute Park, N.M. A cattleman for most of his life, Funk devotes his time primarily to Limosin and Angus cattle, and has created an internationally renowned seedstock production program which ranks as the third largest in the U.S. Express Ranches has grown from modest beginnings with just 50 head of cattle to a prominent program, currently herding nearly 4,000 head.

Funk established the Express Ranches Progressive Junior Scholarship Program in 1995 to help further the education of young people involved with livestock by providing scholarship awards up to $25,000 for junior exhibitors who purchase show heifers and steers from Express Ranches. Since its creation, the Express Ranches scholarship program has awarded over $1.2 million to more than 200 young men and women.

With nearly 500 offices, Oklahoma City-based Express Services' client base extends through four countries and employs 300,000 people annually. Company sales totaled $1.3 billion in 2004.
