BOUND BROOK, NJ, September 25 - The HouseMaster "Find It and Fix It" sweepstakes winners have been announced, with 10 lucky winners being awarded a $250 gift card to a top home improvement store and one, grand prize winner - Karen Jolicoeur of Manchester, NH (awarded by local HouseMaster director Daryl Justham)- winning a $5,000 home improvement gift card.

The $250 gift card winners are:

"The goal of this contest was to encourage current home owners and prospective buyers, alike, to be aware of common home maintenance problems," says Kathleen Kuhn, President and CEO of HouseMaster, a U.S. and Canadian franchise home inspection company that has performed more than one million home inspections for home buyers and sellers since 1979.  "Although a house may seem to be in great shape at first glance, you never know what's not being detected or what's going to happen in the future, so it's important that homeowners know what to look out for so they can save themselves money and unnecessary headaches."

HouseMaster's role in the home buying process is early detection of probable or current home maintenance, system or structural problems in order to save a new homebuyer time, money and stress. "The next step, fixing the problem or problems, is up to the homebuyer," adds Kuhn, "so if any of these winners are in the process of buying their first home, these gift cards will come in very handy."

"We're happy to award these prizes to give the winners an opportunity to make some necessary home improvements or cosmetic changes, whether they've just bought their first home or have been living it in for years," says Kuhn.

The contest, which kicked off in May 2003 on HouseMaster's newly-designed web site had more than 12,500 entrants.
