KidzArt for Seniors Open house

Local seniors exercised their creativity at a recent KidzArt® Franchise for Seniors open house held at Dorothy Nixon Allen Manor in Holly Springs. Marcia Schroer, supervisor of leisure programs for Holly Springs Parks and Recreation, provided the refreshments and Heather Frazier, owner and certified art instructor, led the group in creating a handsome pride of lions. Most of the folks came in warning "I can't draw," but were soon delighted with their artistic results. The open house was a kick-off for classes that will be held Fridays, from 10:30 to 11:30 during the summer. For a $10 materials fee, participants will create beautiful "Of course KidzArt® is not just for Seniors!" said Heather Frazier. Starting in August we will have classes for preschoolers, kids, teens and adults at the Hunt Center. A KidzArt® Fall Open House is scheduled Wednesday, August 20, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hunt Center. KidzArt® is a fun and confidence building drawing program for kids and adults who want to experience the joy of art. |
