New Restaurant to Open in Alpharetta in Fall 2005
|
Lenny’s Franchisor, LLC, franchisor of Lenny’s Sub Shops, announced today an agreement to add restaurants in the Atlanta, Georgia suburb of Alpharetta. Franchisees Lee and Su Attaway will open their first restaurant in the Plaza at Windward Parkway and plan to develop multiple restaurants in the Atlanta area over the next several years. Currently, Lenny’s Sub Shops have four operating locations in the Atlanta area with two others under construction. Company founders Len and Sheila Moore opened the original Lenny’s Sub Shop, a genuine Philadelphia-style sub shop with fresh baked bread and the finest quality deli meats and cheeses, in a Memphis suburb in 1998. However, the couple perfected their sandwich-building techniques and service-oriented approach years earlier on the New Jersey boardwalk – an area renowned for its great subs and cheesesteaks. The Attaways were looking to own a business and became interested in Lenny’s as loyal customers. They say the Lenny’s concept led them to consider the franchise opportunity, while the level of support from the Lenny’s team helped them reach their decision. “After considering several sub sandwich chains, we chose Lenny’s because we are loyal customers and love the great food and superior service,” said Su Attaway. “We always wanted to own a business and we know that Lenny’s is the best opportunity for growth.” The Attaways chose Alpharetta because they consider the area their home and are familiar with the Atlanta market. Atlanta is also a booming area for businesses and was recently ranked first among the country’s best cities for corporate headquarters by Business Facilities magazine. “Alpharetta is a densely populated business area and is home to many corporate offices – ADP, Compaq, Nortel, and many more,” said Lee Attaway. “We want to become the first choice for lunch and for catering to these businesses in the Alpharetta area.”
First Area Franchise to Open in Fall 2005 (Memphis, TN – July 12, 2005) - Lenny’s Franchisor, LLC, franchisor of Lenny’s Sub Shops, announced today an agreement to add restaurants in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Franchisees Chuck and Margo Boler will open their first restaurant in the fall and plan to develop multiple restaurants in the area over the next several years. This agreement further extends the reach of Lenny’s in the Alabama market. Currently, Lenny’s has two operating restaurants in Alabama and recently signed an agreement to add at least eight more in Birmingham. Company founders Len and Sheila Moore opened the original Lenny’s Sub Shop, a genuine Philadelphia-style sub shop with fresh baked bread and the finest quality deli meats and cheeses, in a Memphis suburb in 1998. Lenny’s began franchising in 2001 and currently have 64 operating restaurants with over 300 more sold. The Bolers, avid Lenny’s customers, loved the concept and were looking for a franchise that offers support to its franchisees. They also became interested in owning a Lenny’s franchise after hearing what friends, family and co-workers were saying about the food. “Everyone we talked to loved Lenny’s, which seemed too good to be true for afranchise restaurant,” said Margo Boler. “When we were researching franchises, we knew Lenny’s was the right choice because everyone really does love Lenny’s.” After looking at several markets, the Bolers chose Tuscaloosa to serve the diverse business population, including the university and the emerging automotive sector. Furthermore, Chuck is originally from the area and is familiar with the growing market. “Tuscaloosa has so many people to cater to, including the University of Alabama, the Mercedes-Benz plant, and other industrial companies,” said Chuck Boler. “We want to become the first choice for lunch and for catering to these businesses.” Prior to joining Lenny’s, Chuck was an eleventh-grade History teacher for the Shelby County School system in Tennessee. Margo is an optometrist and plans to continue working part-time in Tuscaloosa.
