Area residents can bring items to the Snappy Auctions store on Saturday, October 16, or Sunday, October 17.  The store will place each item for sale on eBay and manage the entire auction process, then donate a portion of its commission for every item collected during that period that sells.  Customers will receive a check for the eBay selling price minus Snappy Auctions' commission.  They can also donate a portion of their own proceeds to support the foundation's efforts to cure and control cystic fibrosis.

The local Snappy Auctions store is located at 3228 Roswell Road near the intersection of Roswell and Peachtree in the Buckhead community.  It is open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4 on Sunday.

Snappy Auctions accepts any item with an expected value of $50 or more in more than 45,000 eBay categories.  These range from sporting goods, apparel, jewelry, electronics, computers, camera equipment, music equipment, antiques and collectibles to stamps, mannequins, shelving, power tools, heart rate monitors and radiation detectors. 

The Snappy Auctions staff performs an expert valuation of each item to estimate the eBay selling price and devise the most appropriate pricing strategy.  Then they photograph the item, categorize it, write a strategic keyword-based description, handle the eBay posting process, answer inquiries, and collect payment and ship the item when the sale is complete.  Snappy Auctions receives a 15% to 35% commission for its services, depending on the value of the item.
