Krispy Kreme Says It Will Miss Deadline

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc.'s shares fell Monday after the struggling doughnut chain said it will miss a deadline for filing financial results for the first quarter that ended May 1.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.

The Winston-Salem-based company said it expects to report a loss for its first quarter of fiscal 2006 when it does post the earnings. No date was given for when that will happen.
