Popeyes(R) Chicken & Biscuits Pledges $2 Million to Hurricane Relief Effort

New Orleans Brand Commits to Help Rebuild New Orleans Area CommunityATLANTA, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Popeyes(R) Chicken & Biscuits, a division of AFC Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: AFCE), today announced the company and its franchise operators have made a commitment to support Hurricane Katrina relief efforts and to help rebuild the communities of the New Orleans area. The company and its franchisees have pledged a total of $2 million in support of Hurricane Katrina relief efforts including a $500,000 immediate cash donation to the American Red Cross. Another $500,000 will come in the form of relief to both Popeyes employees and others affected by this tragedy.

Additionally, Popeyes and its franchise operators have undertaken efforts to raise $1 million dollars through a national in-restaurant donation program for customers. Details can be found at all Popeyes restaurants nationwide in the coming weeks.
