MARIETTA, Ga., Dec. 4, 2003 - Spectators lining Hammond and Glenridge drives and Mount Vernon and Peachtree Dunwoody roads on Saturday, Dec. 13, will be greeted by the sounds of thousand of bells.

Employees of Buffalo's Southwest Cafe restaurants, a fifth-time sponsor of the event, will greet runners with cups of steaming hot chocolate as they cross the finish line with bells literally tied to their shoes.

Jingle Jog benefits the Atlanta Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, which collects toys for children in need.  Since its founding in 1987, Jingle Jog has established itself as one of the largest one-day toy drive events for the Angel Program.  With more than 4,500 people expected to participate and cheer on the runners this year, the event has also become one of the most attended holiday runs/walks in the county.

"Helping provide a joyful Christmas to families who need a little extra help during the holidays is the main reason we've sponsored Jingle Jog five years in a row," said Ray Cabana, Buffalo's Southwest Cafe president and chief executive officer.

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program brings the joy of Christmas to children from families in need with the help of generous sponsors.  Gifts purchased by the sponsors are given by the Salvation Army to parents who may experience the pride of providing for their children and the treasure of sharing in their excitement.  Local malls, corporations, business, churches, service clubs, schools and other organizations may participate by providing a site for an Angel Tree.  The tree is typically an artificial Christmas tree decorated with Angel Tags that list a child's first name, gender and sizes.  For information or to find Angel Tree locations, please visit www.salvationarmy.org.
