Fastsigns International Receives Special Recognition

FASTSIGNS International, Inc. Two employees received special recognition awards at the international sign and graphics franchisor's annual convention held recently in Phoenix. With headquarters in Carrollton, Texas, FASTSIGNS International is the worldwide franchisor of FASTSIGNS® centers. Dave James, vice president of operations services, and Stan Yamamoto, a franchise business consultant (FBC), each received the FASTSIGNS® Special Recognition Award. In presenting the awards, Susan Last, senior vice president of franchise services, said that James and Yamamoto "each exemplify FASTSIGNS International's commitment to excellence by working to execute a proven concept. Dave and Stan provide unsurpassed initial and ongoing support to franchisees, optimizing all areas of operations, including production, personnel, management, customer service and sales and marketing." As vice president of operations services, James acts as the ombudsman within FASTSIGNS® for new stores, vendor relations and research and development. He has held a number of positions in his 11 years at the company, including vice president of operations, director of operators and FBC. Prior to joining FASTSIGNS®, James spent more than 28 years in the restaurant industry at various levels of management. He also owned and operated a chain of gas stations and convenience stores. As a franchise business consultant, Yamamoto, who has worked for FASTSIGNS® for seven years, works directly with a number of FASTSIGNS® center owners on matters ranging from financial affairs to business operations, from management to sign making production. Prior to becoming an FBC, Yamamoto was a computer programmer for NASA, Motorola and TRW. He traveled frequently as a national technical specialist for Four Phase Systems. Yamamoto also has owned five retail businesses, ranging from an ice cream store to a software company that specialized in back-office business and accounting. James lives in Carrollton, Texas, and Yamamoto is a resident of Frisco, Texas.
