— FASTSIGNS International, Inc., a sign and graphics franchisor with nearly 500 locations worldwide, announced that longtime senior vice president Larry Lane has been promoted to president. Company co-founder Gary Salomon, who previously served as president, remains the company’s chairman and chief executive officer. The company, which is the international franchisor of FASTSIGNS® centers, is now in its 21st year. Corporate headquarters are in Carrollton, Texas, and centers are located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Australia (where locations operate under the SIGNWAVE® name). Lane has been with FASTSIGNS International, Inc. since 1988, when he opened and supported some of the company’s first centers. After serving as director of operations and heading up the company’s international and domestic franchise development, he most recently was the senior vice president of franchise relations and development. In that role, he has overseen domestic and international sales, domestic real estate and store construction. He has also managed relations with the FASTSIGNS® Franchisee Advisory Committee (FAC), and been responsible for franchisee compliance-related issues. “Larry completely understands the franchise relationship and how important it is to constantly create value for the business,” said Salomon, in announcing Lane’s promotion. “He is exactly the right person to ensure a smooth and effective transition as we take the company to the next level.” Lane’s background prior to joining FASTSIGNS International, Inc. includes experience with both the sales and technical facets of a multi-unit business operation. “I am honored and delighted to have this opportunity to lead such a great organization and strong management team,” said the new president. “We’ve experienced high demand both for the signs and graphics that our centers produce and for the business opportunity that we offer people. This is an exciting time to help lead our company. My overall goal is to continue our work to support our franchisees so that they succeed,” said Lane. FASTSIGNS International, Inc. recently received Franchise Business Review’s “Franchise 50 Best-in-Category Award” for the business services industry, which is based on levels of franchisee satisfaction. The national franchise market research firm also ranked FASTSIGNS International, Inc. second overall on the list of the top 50 franchise companies.
