Moes Southwest Grill 19-Store franchise Deal In St.Louis
|
Moe's Southwest Grill Franchise signed another local franchisee to develop its restaurants in the St. Louis metro area over the next six years, it said Tuesday. The Atlanta-based fast-casual restaurant chain signed LaKee Inc. of Metropolis, Ill., to open 19 restaurants in the area and one in Paducah, Ky. LaKee currently operates Nick's Family Sports Pub, Buckets' Neighborhood Pub & Grill, Yesterday's Burgers-n-Cream and Willy Jak's in Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee and Kentucky. Matt Andrew, vice president of Raving Brands, Moe's parent company, said its start-up costs are lower than its competitors. Average start-up costs for a franchise are about $300,000. About a year ago, Moe's Southwest Grill signed franchisee Paul Murfin to open three stores in the area. Moe's offers "Fresh Mex" food, Andrew said, made with fresh ingredients - the company says its restaurants have no freezers or microwave ovens. Its menu contains selections such as the Homewrecker, The Triple Lindy, The Full Monty, Art Vandelay, Sherman Klump and Pinky Tuscadero. Atlanta-based Raving Brands currently has 200 restaurants in operation and 800 franchise units signed in 38 states. The company is also the parent of Planet Smoothie, Mama Fu's, PJ's Coffee, Doc Green's Gourmet Salads and Shane's Rib Shack.
