Coca-Cola North America and Raving Brands, the multi-concept franchise company of choice, announce a long-term beverage marketing agreement at five Raving Brands concepts – Shane’s Rib Shack, Doc Green’s Salads & Grill, Boneheads Grilled Fish and Piri Piri Chicken, Monkey Joe’s and The Flying Biscuit Cafe. Collectively, the five concepts operate nearly 80 stores in five states with plans to open an additional 120 units over the next two years. The beverage marketing agreement is in addition to the existing relationship between Coca-Cola North America and Moe’s Southwest Grill, Raving Brands flagship brand, with over 340 stores operating today and another 200 planned through 2008. Raving Brands is widely acknowledged in the restaurant and franchise industries as an award-winning and aggressive developer of restaurant and entertainment concepts, and it has recently begun reshaping itself into a world-class enterprise which is focused on strategic growth, brand refinement, and franchisee success. “Our long-term and strategic relationship with Coca-Cola is yet another significant step in taking Raving Brands to the next level,” explains Steve M. LaMastra, president and chief operating officer of Raving Brands. “This agreement speaks to our commitment to our franchisees, who will benefit from the association with some of the most iconic brands in the world, and it gives our entire enterprise access to the marketing prowess that comes with The Coca-Cola Company.” Raving Brands has been on a phenomenal growth path since its inception in 2000 and has become one of the country’s most dynamic restaurant and family oriented franchise companies,” notes Ben Shanley, regional vice president, Coca-Cola North America. “We see tremendous synergies with our portfolio of beverages and the growing Raving Brands portfolio, and significant potential for some innovative programming in the future.” Raving Brands Portfolio Growth Shane’s Rib Shack. Shane’s Rib Shack is a true American rib shack, known for its hand-cut baby back ribs, chicken and pork and made-from-scratch sides. Founded by Shane Thompson, in rural McDonough, Georgia in 2002, Thompson started the restaurant with his grandfather’s secret BBQ sauce. Since Atlanta-based Raving Brands partnered with Thompson in 2004, Shane’s Rib Shack has grown to become the country’s fastest growing quick-casual barbecue concept with 47 stores opened and 135 franchise units in development across the country. Boneheads Grilled Fish and Piri Piri Chicken. Boneheads Grilled Fish and Piri Piri Chicken is the culinary experience where adults seeking fresh, flavorful food in a relaxed environment can indulge in fire-grilled fish seasoned with Boneheads’ signature spices and chicken dishes marinated with Piri Piri sauces. Boneheads currently operates six stores and plans to double in 2007 and 2008. Doc Green’s Salads and Grill. With 27 unique toppings and 11 distinctive dressings, Doc Green’s offers over nine million combinations of healthy, fresh, made-to-order salads, in addition to 10 signature salads, soups, panini sandwiches and wraps. All salads can also be topped from the fire grill with portabella mushroom, salmon, sirloin steak or chicken or made into a wrap. With 16 stores opened today, Doc Green’s boasts the portfolio’s most dynamic and diverse fast casual menu, ideal for lunch and dinner. The Flying Biscuit Cafe. In 2006, Raving Brands couldn’t resist partnering with Delia Champion’s Flying Biscuit eclectic neighborhood restaurant, the company’s first entry into the casual dining segment. The Flying Biscuit Cafe expects to replicate its nationally recognized recipe for natural, hip cuisine and a charming atmosphere, opening its first franchised concepts in early 2007. Monkey Joe’s. Monkey Joe’s is a fun and exciting inflatables-filled indoor facility that provides families with engaging and interactive activity and entertainment -- all day, every day (no special occasion necessary!). Today Monkey Joe’s operates nine facilities totaling 110,000 square footage of pure-kid-fun in motion. In 2007, Monkey Joe’s plans to open 10 facilities, totaling an additional 120,000 square footage. “Our portfolio of franchise concepts continues to mature and align with core audiences in the respective marketplaces in which our franchisees operate. In recent months, our corporate structure has evolved into a professional, disciplined franchise development and marketing enterprise,” explains Chris Morocco, chief development officer of Raving Brands. “With The Coca-Cola Company as our beverage marketing partner, we expect to expand our knowledge base about food service and consumer marketing, making 2007 a landmark year for our company and our franchisees.” |
