HomeVestors® of America, Inc., the company famous for its "We Buy Ugly Houses"® billboards, has announced that it will begin awarding franchises in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Ranked as one of the fastest-growing companies in the real estate industry, HomeVestors is the only national franchise that specializes in buying, rehabbing and selling single-family homes. The company currently has more than 250 franchise locations in 29 states. “We’re eager to expand in the northeast,” said John P. Hayes, Ph.D., president and CEO of HomeVestors. “With the success our franchisees have had buying more than 5,000 homes in 27 states last year, and a track record proving that the business can succeed in many demographics, we are ready to make a difference in neighborhoods across New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.”

Jason Killough, director of franchise development for HomeVestors, said prospects from the tri-state area have already expressed an interest in purchasing a HomeVestors franchise. Applicants for a HomeVestors franchise must have net assets of at least $200,000 in cash and cash equivalents and pay a $46,000 franchise fee. Candidates who are awarded a franchise attend two weeks of business training at HomeVestors’ corporate headquarters before opening their local operations.
