La Salsa's catering division served hungry event participants and supporters an array of Mexican food, including La Salsa's signature grilled chicken and steak tacos and fresh salsas to the cyclists who rode the 12-, 30-, 60- or 100-mile courses.

“The support was overwhelming from riders and volunteers to sponsors,” explained Lisa Northrop, community development coordinator of the Channel Islands chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. “It was exciting to see them all come together to support the M.S. Society. It was a great opportunity to get the community together to call attention to multiple sclerosis.”

“For the third consecutive year, La Salsa is pleased to join forces with the National MS Society to host the Bike Tour & Fest and to assist in raising funds to help find a cure for this debilitating disease,” said Mike Liby, president and COO of La Salsa. “I’m glad that cyclists of all ages and abilities made it a point to join us at this very special event and help us in the fight against multiple sclerosis.”

The Channel Islands Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has served people affected by the condition in the tri-county area (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura) since 1973. MS is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system characterized by symptoms ranging from numbness in the limbs to paralysis or loss of vision. The society offers education, self-help and peer counseling; tools for independent living; medical equipment and respite care loans; physician and other healthcare provider referrals; adapted exercise programs; a lending library of tapes, videos, and publications; and medical, legal and disability advocacy on local, state and national levels.
