Boston Pizza Recieves Platinum Club Status From 50 Best

Richmond, BC - Boston Pizza International Inc. was formally recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies Platinum Club members by John Hughes of Deloitte & Touche who was on hand at Boston Pizza's Franchise Awards Gala in Toronto on May 3rd to present the award. The Platinum Club is a new designation for the 50 Best and is comprised of companies that have been outstanding participants of the program for at least six consecutive years. With the Platinum Club membership, Boston Pizza has now won the 50 Best Award for ten consecutive years, having first won in 1994. Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies (50 Best) is a national awards program sponsored by Deloitte & Touche, CIBC Commercial Banking, The National Post and Queens School of Business, to recognize a wide range of businesses who have implemented world-class best business practices. Fifty companies are recognized annually, and recipients of previous 50 Best awards who meet ongoing criteria are recognized as "Requalified Winners". The 50 Best winners are required to: 1) have revenues between $10 million and $2 billion, 2) have demonstrated strong growth in the last three years, 3) be more than 50 percent owned and closely held by Canadians, 4) if public, have less than 50 per cent of their shares traded.
