Franchisee Glenn Schaible to Develop Multiple Restaurants in 6 Counties(Memphis, TN – July 25, 2005) - Lenny’s Franchisor, LLC, franchisor of Lenny’s Sub Shops, announced an agreement today with Lenny’s veteran Glenn Schaible to open multiple new restaurants in six northern Florida counties, including Bay, Holmes, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton and Washington. Schaible, a current franchisee and most recently the Director of Real Estate at Lenny’s Franchisor, LLC, will open the first restaurant in Niceville in the fall of 2005. Lenny’s began franchising in 2001 and has recently become one of the fastest growing sub shop chains in the Southeast. Originally a single-store concept founded in 1998 by Len and Sheila Moore, Lenny’s Sub Shops now has granted over 300 franchises in nine states. This expansion is another mile marker in the rapid growth of the Lenny’s franchise, especially in the Florida market. Recently, Lenny’s Sub Shops announced an agreement to open 123 restaurants in South Florida. Schaible recently stepped down from his full-time position at the Lenny’s corporate office to take on this new venture and expand his franchise ownership with the company. He joined Lenny’s as a franchisee in 2003 and later joined the Lenny’s corporate team as Director of Real Estate. Schaible decided to become a full-time franchisee in Florida because he wanted to focus his entrepreneurial skills on the business. Schaible, who has over two years of experience as a Lenny’s franchisee, developed his Memphis franchise into one of the highest performing restaurants in the area and plans to apply his extensive knowledge to his additional restaurants in Florida. “Florida is a great place to live and a perfect place to take Lenny’s,” said Schaible. “On top of that, there is a huge demand for friendly, customer-driven restaurants in Florida. The excessive growth in the area is creating a great opportunity for business owners.” According to the National Restaurant Association, the industry outlook for the entire South Atlantic area is looking upward. Restaurant sales are expected to exceed the $67 billion mark in this region. With regards to the state of Florida, there is a projected 5.6 percent increase, totaling $19.9 billion in sales this year.
Jackson Business owners commit to opening in fall 2005 (Memphis, TN – July 12, 2005) - Lenny’s Franchisor, LLC, franchisor of Lenny’s Sub Shops, announced today an agreement to add another restaurant in Jackson, Tennessee. Franchisee group IN IN III, Inc. has purchased the rights to the existing Lenny’s Sub Shop in Jackson at 744 Vann Drive and agreed to open a new restaurant in the Jackson area. Lenny’s Sub Shop began franchising in 2001 and has recently become one of the fastest growing sub shop chains in the Southeast. Originally a single-store concept founded in 1998 by Len and Sheila Moore, Lenny’s Sub Shops now has 64 operational restaurants and has granted over 300 franchises in nine states. Franchisee group IN IN III, Inc. decided to partner with Lenny’s because they believe in the concept and are excited about taking Lenny’s to the next level in the Jackson market. The partners include David Barksdale, owner of Las Vegas Golf & Tennis in Jackson, Dr. Charles McCall, a prominent local physician, and Tommy Edwards, manager of the currently operating Lenny’s in Jackson. The common thread among the three partners is the Village on Vann, a strip mall owned by Dr. McCall where Barksdale’s golf shop and Lenny’s are both located. “We have been closely involved with Lenny’s as landlords, neighbors and customers,” said Barksdale. “There is great potential here in Jackson to be part of a rapidly growing franchise.” The franchise group selected Jackson because of their familiarity with the city. All three have lived there for over 20 years and are involved in the community. Barksdale’s golf shop and McCall’s medical practice are cornerstones in the Jackson business community. “We know Jackson, the people and the market,” said Barksdale. “We strongly believe in the future of Jackson and Lenny's. Two stores may well only be the start.” The franchise group is currently researching potential locations for the second restaurant.
