-Reface cabinet and drawer fronts. Unlike total cabinet replacement, existing door and drawer fronts can be replaced with new pieces without a hefty bill or a big disruption to the kitchen.

-Restore existing kitchen or bathroom cabinets. Exposure to dirt, grease, dust and light can dull and fade wood cabinets. Reconditioning the cabinets will not only remove those contaminants but also lubricate and restore the dried out wood fiber to give them a fresh, new finish. "Bathroom vanities are exposed to a high level of moisture which can cause peeling and cracking," says Morrissey. -Update existing cabinet hardware. "Replacing dated hinges, handles and knobs with new, stylish hardware is an easy way to make cabinets more attractive to prospective home buyers," says Morrissey.

-Add storage units to cabinets. Make your cabinets look neat and organized by adding various storage accessories. "Rollout trays and racks, drawer organizers and pantry units are a few examples of items that can make your cabinets look smart and orderly," says Morrissey.
