Lighting Expert Gives Tips to Display Homes and Gardens at Night
|
With a spring thaw imminent, yard and garden enthusiasts are beginning to make plans for the rebirth of their home landscape designs. Lubbock, TX, April 19, 2005 - From flowers, bushes and trees to decks, patios and pools, homeowners are ready to renew what the harsh winter leaves behind. Once the hard work of springtime yard preparation is completed, the final step is to install proper outdoor lighting so the fruit of your efforts can be displayed both day and night, says Curtis Hogan, president of Nite Time Decor. "Landscape lighting is functional but it also allows you to showcase the beauty of your spring yard, garden and home after dark," says Hogan. In addition to commonly used floodlights or entryway lighting, Hogan offers some ideas in landscape lighting that will allow you to display your spring landscape designs at night: -Clear away the brush and debris from your front walkways and add attractive, low-voltage lights to illuminate the footpath to your door. -If you plan on plenty of outdoor entertainment on the deck or by the pool, install low-voltage lights under handrails, deck benches, tables or stairs for a dramatic effect and safety. Submerged lights in water gardens or ponds add an aesthetic touch to the total landscape. -Once those colorful flowerbeds are in full bloom, showcase them at night by inserting down lights in nearby trees to highlight the various ground cover. -To showcase your newly sided or painted house, conceal lights in shrubs or other foliage and cast upward lights to add splashes of brightness. -Use a slightly colored light, instead of white, to make your shrubs appear a deeper green or a bed of flowers to look brighter.
